Early life: Arshdeep is the son of Darshan and Baljit.
His father worked for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for over 25 years. He was assigned to Guna. Later, the family moved to Kharar, which is near Chandigarh. For practice, he used to ride a bicycle 13 kilometers from his home to Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, Chandigarh. In 2015, he joined Jaswant Rai's cricket academy in Chandigarh. He has an older brother, Akashdeep Singh, who lives in Brampton, and a sister, Gurleen Kaur. Arshdeep played in the Katoch Shield tournament for junior cricket.
Punjab's under-23 cricket team
He played for Punjab's under-23 cricket team in the 2018 CK Nayudu Trophy. He was part of the Indian under-19 team that won the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Arshdeep was named in India's squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh. In June 2021, he was one of five net bowlers for India's tour of Sri Lanka. After a positive COVID-19 case in the Indian team, he was added to the squad for the last two T20I matches of the tour. In May 2022, he was named in India's squad.
