1. What is Fiverr?

Fiverr, based in Tel Aviv, Israel, is one of the most well-known freelancer sales platforms, a subsidiary of New York-based stock with its trademark: FVRR. Fiverr was established in 2010 by Shai Wininger and Micha Kaufman.

The purpose of Fiverr is to enable freelancers to offer digital services such as producers, graphic designers, copywriters, and programming services, as well as non-digital services such as telephone calls, face-to-face services...

Fiverr services are exchanged in the shape of a "gig" beginning at one end at $5, and can grow to thousands of dollars at the time. Renting on fiverr includes marketing, website growth, graphics, translation, video, writing, digital art, software and even business opportunities.

An autonomous worker may also apply, but not restricted to, the parameters that other categories will determine.

Fiverr is a website in which freelancers offering their work or "gigs" express what they can do and how much they would like to be paid for their services. Customers then go through these listings and select any work that they might like to have done, make the payment and get their results.

To the customer, Fiverr operates similarly to other services you hire to you purchase (a gig) to do a job for you such as uber (gig to get you somewhere), Lyft (gig for you to be driven somewhere), Taskrabbit (gig to get chores done) and others. In 2019, Fiverr employed 419 employees and sellers and manufacturers throughout the world.

1.1. Overview of Fiverr platform

Fiverr.com is a freelance website based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Not just any freelancing site, however. The efficiency of Fiverr and the job offer put the platform at the stage where it became a freelancing behemoth.

It was stated that the founders chose the name because the jobs performed on the platform were also allusions to "freelancer" jobs because the jobs here are less than five dollars. Today, the cost of each gig on Fiverr starts at five dollars, but the freelancer offering the service has the possibility to add more service features and distinguishes service prices like gamma.

With over 3 million jobs on offer in more than 100 sub-categories, it is a very competitive market. Evolved in 2010, Fiverr became popular and started to emerge as the best platform for both shopping and selling.

The site's popularity and income began to skyrocket four years later when it released the "Fiverr Levels" feature and created a concept that demonstrated the quality of the services it was selling.

Whether you are working and traveling, intend to have your own side business, belong to a small or medium enterprise (SME), or an entrepreneur, you need to create a new business and enhance it.

1.2. Services offered on Fiverr

The services offered on Fiverr are on various platforms in many fields like animation, marketing, advertisement, writing, IT technology, education, business development, graphics and design, lifestyle and coaching, etc.

The users specify the project or services that they need and also in the given category a large set of experts is formed through a list of offerings from the experts. Then the customer who wanted the help will choose the offer which is the most sophisticated, in terms of expertise, cost, delivery date and other factors.

After their job is done, the deal is transacted and the money is received by the experts. Some of these services are found by mutual offers. It works in a variety of ways but often students who have small tasks or short-term business objectives go hand in hand.

Fiverr sellers offer complete and small repair work, huge quantities of digital services, and products in a broad range of price levels and tailored to customer's projects.

The specially designed Fiverr application continues to improve, offering improved security and privacy features as of August 2018. In the upcoming marketplace, buying digital services is predicted as a long-term mission.

Exploring the world of Fiverr; this chapter introduces the Fiverr software that enables freelancers and businesses to hire and work independently. Fiverr is a world-class market that highly serves the customers and freelancers with great excellence.

With this advanced technology market, people can find, recruit, and operate internationally with the help of this virtual market environment and it easily identifies and manages the work. This chapter covers brief history of Fiverr, the working of it, the services provided by Fiverr and its uses in the market.

The knowledge-based classification method is shown in section, the case study and the future work is shown at the end of the chapter.

1.3. Benefits of using Fiverr

Sourcing work from Fiverr also frees up a lot of valuable time for you which you can now invest in focusing on the core areas of your business. It can act as your enterprise's support structure in the back end and let you, as an entrepreneur, get back to nurturing your business.

The other benefit of using Fiverr as compared to when you engage a professional agency is in the case of disputes, which can be many times hard and stressful.

With Fiverr, you can agree upon a cancellation of the order with hardly any hassle, whereas with big advertising and PR agencies, disputes have been known to gain time and cost a lot of money! Simply said, Fiverr, because of its model, needs to cater to the most amount of satisfied users on a consistent basis to remain in the game.

On the other hand, however, when you engage big PR companies in the freelance aloof world – you are at their mercy!

If the Fiverr model works so well, where the sellers perform at the lowest cost, then there has to be benefits for the buyers too, right? Well, the first and most obvious one would be the vastly reduced cost of acquiring whatever it is that you need.

Remember those graphics that we spoke about in the beginning? They can be had for as little as ten bucks! And even relatively more complex graphics, which require the designer to devote quite a noticeable amount of his time, can be had for a mere fraction of the cost that a big design company would charge.

2. How to Get Started on Fiverr

Users can connect via either of two account type options: one as a seller or as a buyer; once designed, now the services’ doors can be open and users may begin using or offering the multitude of services available.

As a buyer, a user account will be established, whereby personal and payment information is acquired in order to execute all transactions and secure the buyer and seller experiences. Every user account is protected by Fiverr customer service, privacy, and security standards.

Provide a registered email address, personalized username, password, and general profile information such as first and last names. A created profile title, a short bio description, skill categories, and a clear profile picture or brand logo may be assigned, once these sections have been completed.

Finally, all future services will require authorizations via email to activate or resume various functions and research users have initiated. This will be the dedicated account used to manage buying broadcasting and finite communications customers can utilize to purchase 24/7 customer sales and services.

In order to access the many services on offer by way of Fiverr, users must establish an account by visiting the company website or by downloading the Fiverr app. Setting up an account is quick and easy, requiring only an email address and personalized user-generated password.

Users can log onto Fiverr by launching the app and are then presented with a series of steps required to create a general profile from start to finish including first and last name, a user name, and a brief description of the services they offer, concerning themselves, or what they are searching or using the Fiverr service for.

Be creative and use keywords for profile title such as digital marketing, blog writer, fitness model, which will be used to help identify appropriate searches and potential sellers or buyers. You can also assign a profile picture or logo that represents your business brand.

2.1. Creating a Fiverr account

When you sign into Fiverr for the first time, you are required to set up your profile. Completing your profile correctly is something that will greatly help you land new service orders and attract clients.

In order to complete your profile, you must select what relates to you from the options given. Details such as your goals for joining Fiverr, your category choice, your subcategory options, and other business-specific details for online fitness services can be detailed at a later time.

You should also let your potential clients know who you are, what relevant experience or expertise you have, and why you are passionate about the specialized services offered. After you have provided these details, if clients believe that your experience and expertise can deliver the results they desire, they are more likely to work with you.

The first step to creating a Fiverr account is opening the Fiverr website or the app and clicking on the “Join” button located at the top right corner. Once you click on the button, you will be redirected to the registration page.

As a new user, you have two options when joining Fiverr. By choosing your preference, you may join Fiverr either by creating a new account using your email address or signing into your Facebook or Google account.

If you opt to use your email address to register for an account, you will then be required to fill in your email address in the text field and create a password for your account.

Upon providing your Fiverr username (which is your email address), a verification link is sent to the email address provided to activate the Fiverr account. Registration is quick and easy, and you can sign up for free.

It is encouraged to use your business email address to create a Fiverr account, even if you are planning to provide services related to fitness, as it can make the registration process smooth.

2.2. Setting up your profile

It could seem scary – the idea that you might set up a tour guide gig that is completely wasted effort – but remember that everything can be changed. You could potentially ask the specific needs of a client and tweak your existing gigs to exactly mirror their demands, that way your effort just becomes a sample for potential future work.

Just like with the indexes, having more options can only increase your potential for work. If you are too specific, your services might not stand out but if you can handle a wide range of tasks you automatically give off a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ vibe which goes in your favour.

Set up a gig for each skill and let the writing around these define what you are capable of doing. I have an article coming up soon which will explain in further detail how to take advantage of that ‘Together 4-ever’ feature that was launched last year, it might fill in some gaps in my advice here but just feel it out.

If one thing turns out to be a real selling point for you, expand in that direction as you test waters.

It will come as no surprise when I say that potential clients base their first impressions on the keywords you use, and this forms the weirdest Catch 22 in the opening act of your Fiverr career. You don’t really know what will land you the most work.

My advice here is to look at the top sellers and see what they have in common. Use those similarities to inform the earliest write-ups on your profile and the gigs you offer.

2.3. Finding gigs to offer

If you have no idea what to offer, search for the best sellers on Fiverr and identify popular categories. You might be surprised how simple these gigs are. When we think that people are only interested in advanced stuff, we’re wrong.

In this sense, simplicity beats complexity. These popular gigs should give you ideas for original gigs. Beside popular gigs, check out gigs related to topics you’re interested in and you’re skilled at. In order to have the full picture about what’s popular or related to your skills, make sure to check out both popular gigs and new gigs in the categories that interest you.

With a list of possible gigs on your mind, research them and see if there’s a demand for them. Check out how many reviews are on the gigs you think of offering. You don’t want to choose something people aren’t interested in because you’ll never have any sales.

Also try to promote each gig that comes to your mind using social networks or other means. If a lot of people are interested in what you have to offer, you’re on the right path.

After you narrow down the list of possible gigs that interest you and have potential, set each gig up and launch them. Some people recommend that you have at least 7 gigs. You can give ideas about it. Q. When should I create more gigs? A.

2.4. Pricing your services

Search for a couple of your keyphrases and save the leading gigs into an Excel sheet. Determine the gigs that have the major quantity of feedback. Form your price model depending on this statistic. If there are suitable gigs with a higher price, you can also apply the same price for your service.

Making your services available at fair prices considering what you have to offer: quality unique gigs, agile development, requires you to abide by the rules of the “$5 and up gigs” by offering a base $5 to $20 gig for clients who wish to evaluate your work before ordering additional services at a higher price.

Avoid doing unnecessary work and watching out for several payments for one gig. Always make sure that initial ideas are being posted and a “down payment” is being received before starting your work. Orders that have many elements require to halt if the customer does not provide the essential information.

Be secure, particularly when you’re doing the less expensive gigs. A clear and detailed conversation will make the customer know that you’re comfortable and confident that you can deliver the best end result. This is particularly important for new sellers.

When setting your gig price, consider the price you’re willing to work with based on your skill experience. The fact that others on Fiverr do work for less doesn’t mean you have to work for less, too. It’s important that you’re happy doing the work you love.

After you’ve completed your gig for a period, say one month, and you aren’t getting orders, you may alter the gig price. You may try out other price options that can meet your potential customers' financial status.

3. Tips for Success on Fiverr

Sometimes, your first clients will come from your Fiverr activity. However, once you have 6-12 articles posted, and you’re promoting your gig heavily on social media and showing that you’re serious about your content and search engine results, it’s likely that your efforts will eventually reach people outside of Fiverr.

Still, be sure to keep your account active to increase your exposure and gain clients who prefer to use Fiverr. If you go the Fiverr route, a lot of people are going to tell you to start with a lower price per word (like 10 cents) and build up your ratings before you raise your price.

This is not a bad strategy. You can build up your ratings fairly quickly, and many low-paying clients will eventually evolve into better-paying clients. You can even do things like revamp your old articles and resell them to these same clients for a higher price.

When you create your Fiverr account, be sure you fill out your profile completely. Include a photo, catchy bio, and any relevant samples of your writing. These features will give you a better shot at being hired, considering most clients will still base their first impression of you on your profile.

Once you’re all set up, be sure you search for jobs related to your niche. Writing is a broad category, so make sure your writer’s preferences are further specified under your “writing” subcategory. This way, the client contacting you is already looking for someone who specializes in something similar to what you like to do. The more specific you can get, the happier everyone will be in the end.

3.1. Building a strong portfolio

Prepare a Portfolio PDF: Show on the PDF any work you have done. Prepare a few samples from articles, translations and project previews in an attractive PDF about who you work for, or you can show a completed project.

That way you can upload the preview of your creation and show the result. Receive good reviews. Show the good results you have with your customers, keep a good review at Fiverr, these can give you good feedback.

Keep offering your services with the same new client or with another new and satisfied client, and be eager to provide high quality work for other satisfied clients.

Build sample work: In order to convince potential buyers to trust your work, you can choose a client from a digital nomad group. Write a post for him on Facebook and tell him you will write an article for him, so he can see your writing skills.

Perfect your skills constantly and improve the content, ask the client for feedback or leave it in the work you have made. Add translated samples of your work to your portfolio: Whether you have a Yelp review, a post, translation, framework or content editing service, make sure you upload your work on your Fiverr to show off your skills that are well done, what kind of work you are doing and to attest to your competence.

3.2. Communicating with clients

You must check your inbox and your account daily, so as not to miss any important or potential messages and to keep an open dialogue with your clients.

In case you have a message you receive notification on your Fiverr profile represented by a number next to the word ‘Messages’. You may see these notifications on different section menus, basically on all your profiles.

Open Messages by clicking the number next to ‘Messages’ on your profile. The ordering process can also be initiated from a conversation window. To reply to a message on Fiverr simply, you can click on the top of the message container where it shows Click Here to Reply.

Then write your message in the new larger area of the box. Or if there are any message concerns click on the upper right corner on "Report Concern." All the files, images and videos exchanged between the client, are saved automatically in the message.

At the end of your conversation (especially after the delivery date), evaluate your clients' behavior, accept any upcoming requests and save the messages.

The effective online communication with your clients helps you not only to understand what they need, but also to propose your options to solve their problems. A satisfying online conversation is created by being responsive and time-efficient, having consistent and grammatically correct text, using a well-structured content and being professional.

As you communicate frequently with your clients it is very important to save the conversation and the project as a backup. You can also save your chat as a file using the following steps.

There are three simple ways to communicate with your clients: Via direct inbox message from Notifications, via the specific order page, which is quite useful as you have the order specifications displayed in one tab, and also via the relevant section in the Fiverr mobile app.

3.3. Delivering high-quality work

Knowing when to say no is important. A common mistake made by new sellers is to accept an order even when they know that they cannot deliver the work on time. Sellers do this because they fear that turning a client away will result in lost business.

While this might occasionally be true, the truth is that a dissatisfied client would be more likely to damage the seller’s reputation than not accepting an order in the first place would.

This does not imply that clients should be turned away without careful thought. Usually, clients can be accommodated. However, we must always remember that the potential for order cancellations can result in a severe negative impact on our seller rating.

It also means that sometimes we have to turn down client orders. For instance, when a potential buyer sends us a message and asks how long it would take us to deliver a particular article, our response is, “It depends on the requested word count, but it typically takes us 24-36 hours to deliver 1500-2000 words.”

No matter how much we might want to have a new client, if the deadline they request is too short, we would not want to ruin our Fiverr stats by allowing a frustrated client to cancel an order because we are late.

Not only would a late order hurt our overall Fiverr rating (which is a significant factor that determines our ranking in the search results), but it also would hurt our bank account since a late order would lead to order cancellations and fewer completed sales.

This can be said to be the greatest contributor to our success on Fiverr. Our goal is to provide high-quality work fast enough to beat delivery deadlines.

4. Growing Your Fiverr Business

However, consider also that sellers who have earned a certain number of Fiverr client reviews and are considered an expert in their area of work will be specially favoring Fiverr’s search algorithms.

The reviews may only come when orders are delivered and positive, but the expert status needs to be claimed by you and maintained by continuing to get orders. During the initial 14 days after a new gig is published, price or number of revisions may be changed.

Be reasonable and competitive with the client’s needs and desires and make changes as your gigs develop and trends are recognized, but most importantly do not reduce your prices or increase your number of revisions after your initial 14 days.

After your initial gig publishing, the price cannot be changed for 30 days and any changes after that will need to be made in the form of an entirely new gig.

Growing your Fiverr business. As a seller, providing high caliber work and friendly communication in a timely manner is highly likely to win you repeat customers and excellent reviews. Once again, these are vital to the success of your Fiverr business, so delivering any and all orders received will need to be treated as top priority.

Repeat business is always appreciated, and the evidence of your success and credibility as a responsible and friendly seller.

4.1. Promoting your gigs

Provide an offer with quantity to target orders from regular Buyers: When creating a gig on Fiverr, sellers may opt to include the quantity of items for the basic gig package or for a special offer. This is interesting for sellers who decide to offer more than one article, imagine, for example, to offer five for the same cost.

We should help buyers to understand that they can purchase the same gig item with a higher value quantity at the same cost of the Seller level agreed. It is very important to be clear, concise, and organized.

Choose wise and well-crafted descriptions to make it easy for a regular buyer to understand the convenience of purchasing from this offer with multiple quantities. Always remember to include in the offer description the benefits and added value that will be provided.

Remember that a returning customer becomes a loyal customer when he or she gets excellent service and is confident to purchase more without any wastage of time.

To ensure our buyers know about these features, we can add in the gig title and description that the gig includes this special quantity offer. This way, Fiverr will take care of increasing the visibility of our gig when Buyers decide to include terms of quantity in their search filters.

Promote your gigs: After you craft your gig, using targeted keywords and emphasizing your expertise in the midst of strong competition, what’s next? Time to promote it! Fiverr provides some tools and suggestions.

Let’s explore them. In the screenshot below, we have visited our gig and, below the cover photo and to the right of the two buttons on the left, we see a nice array of social-sharing buttons for our gig. It is great to have this feature automatically integrated into our gig setup in order to simplify the process of sharing our gig on social-networking sites.

It is important to test what works best to promote each gig and allocate some time to do this consistently. Promoting the gigs to social-media followers can help increase traffic and also connect the Fiverr profile with social media.

Share the gig with messages and hashtags using social accounts such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and others that may connect with the type of offers included in the Fiverr’s gigs. We can also research keywords used by other successful freelancers in your niche and use them in our social media posts.

4.2. Expanding your services

Although Fiverr started as a $5 job board, the sellers are now expanding to offer higher levels and charging a higher price. High-quality sellers identified very quickly that they could charge more for the premium packages, and their buyers would pay up.

After all, sellers want to make a decent wage. It is much easier to make money while selling the $50 package than sending 10 individual files from the $5 package to ten buyers. In addition, when you move to higher value materials, competition decreases, as many sellers are not good enough to justify a $50 sale. To make better money from your job, always make sure you can excel by receiving 100% ratings.

You may decide to add more services on Fiverr which will include the basic $5 package, a $25 package, and the $50 or more package. With other sellers constantly lowering their price, you cannot afford to stay stuck at one price. Always check the price of your competitor to determine if jumping to a higher price is appropriate.

Buyers also need to remember that they get what they pay for here. It is always best to pay high prices and select a great service provider who will always do their best. If you want to buy something, make sure you can pay fairly for the work being done.

4.3. Managing orders and deadlines

This is a key aspect that many sellers forget to look at prior to increasing the visibility of their gigs. Many sellers often have several jobs and feel that keeping a longer turnaround time gives them the cushion to give 100% to everyone.

It is better to change turnaround time or simply pause the gig if the trend is going downwards and the orders are piling up. If the delivery takes too long, it upsets buyers, sometimes to the stage where they will file a complaint, and, after that the risk of negative feedback is just too high. Focus on delivering on time, communicate and giving the best customer service possible.

While getting enough traffic involves much more than simply creating a good gig. If you have a gig that is able to generate sales, you should make sure you are able to deliver what you promise. Otherwise, all your efforts during steps 1 - 13 will be wasted.

Many freelancers have issues with timeframes because they don't work on Fiverr full-time. But most of them will use the "turnaround time" the gig specifies in order to get your attention and boost the gig's chances of being more visible.
